Where are they now? Warriors From Mad Max II The Road Warrior
Here's a look at what the actors in one of my favourite films are up to now. Bruce Spence seems to pop up regularly in character parts but some of the rest have been a bit quiet (or in Australian TV) Sadly a couple have died, far to young in the case of the girl the Bruce Spence's Gyro Captain ends up with.
Sheila's Wheels
Great to see these ads back on the TV the other day... camp as hell but I'd quite like to drive around the Australian outback with three bee-hived sheilas in the back of the open-topped US muscle car. Even if it was pink. But I don't think I'd go as far as the dress.
Oh and here, two other sheilas sing it with helium
Jeans ads
Just about remember this advert from my youth, probably too young to really appreciate it at the time.
Also tracked down the infamous Lee Cooper ad that was banned for being too scary for kids. Sure I can remember and even scarier version than this one. And great Gary Numan vocals.
Given the above it's interesting to add this music video about a woman who 'makes her blue jeans walk' so well it can apparently make the blind see...

Star Wars' Sounds
Sound is often an overlooked aspect of cinema and here's a vid someone has put together that shows that some of the sound effects of Star Wars are almost as iconic as the visuals. For me the grating noise of the Tie fighters will always be favourite aural aspect of the Star Wars universe. And none of the recent trilogy stuff seems as good as the old one... too 'digital' compare to the organic nature of the originals (see also the old Who themes of the 70s with the later versions.) Though I had to admit the seismic charges did sound fantastic in the cinema... a bass note that seemed to got right through you.
24 Hours Of Horror With Eli Roth
Quite an interesting article on what you might want to watch during a 24 horror film marathon. Some oldies and goodies - like The Thing and The Wicker. Man - but plenty of stuff I've never even heard of... there's a slasher-pic, Torso that looks completely mental!
A pity Roth's films themselves can't he half as interesting.
DM Of The Rings
Hilarious fan comic strip that imagines the Lord of the Ring's films are Dungeons and Dragons campaign with incompetent DM and players. Brought back some memories of my role-playing days... nothing quite as bad depicted here but I can remember blood-thirsty players hungry for gold and experience following around powerful NPCs while the DM tries to steer their campaign back one to his rails.
