Wasted

Talking of zombies… here’s a German (don’t worry, there’s no dialogue) zombie-western that was made for buttons, but isn’t half bad. Like to see what this guy could do with a full budget.

And here's a trailer for a home-made Trek film... great special effects, but, well to be charitable, not so great dialogue or acting.

No more TOTP

Pity to hear of the end of Top of The Pops, though it been a shadow of its formal self for years… stumbled over this clip of Headgirl (That’s when Mötorhead and Girlschool got together) the other day, classic.

Like the way Mötorhead's drummer 'Filthy' (whose drum kit included two spirit optics…) has nothing much to do, so just dances. Very badly. (I’m not hundred percent sure this is from TOTP but never mind)

Underground Ernie

Stumbled over this the other day -- yeah, I really didn’t have nothing better to do, plus I had a streaming head cold so was after easy entertainment… I know it’s only for kids and I was a bit feverish but the damn thing really freaked me out. Probably Linekar’s voice combined with characters who are deep in the uncanny valley was what did me in.

Steampunk Robots! (well sort of)…

Comics and Cartoons Festival! yeah don’t get too excited… but they do have the horrifically precocious 'youngest comic creator in the world'. And I'll have to do some sort of web cartoon strip if you can actually make a living at it…

Real life Spider-Man

This free climber is very impressive… but it comes as no surprise he died soon after.

Uwe Boll’s Fight Club

Uwe Boll

Not since the days of William 'The Tingler' Castle have I heard a publicity stunt this good. Uwe Boll, director of for-fans-only video-game themed films, has offered the chance for critics of his work to go a few rounds with him in the boxing ring… which will form part of the action of his latest magnum opus Postal (based on the, you’ve guessed it, the controversial video game).

I like how he blames Tarantino because he put his name to Hostel when it came out - obviously this was why BloodRayne tanked at the box office. I seemed to remember a story a while back where QT ‘bitch-slapped’ someone he didn’t like in a restaurant. And he looked built the last time I saw him (on the Hero DVD). I wouldn’t fancy Uwe’s chances against him.

Makes me almost want to see a Boll film to see what all the fuss is about. Almost.

Horror film director's favourite horror films

Horror Films - Psycho, Audition, Night of the Living Dead, The Shining

Interesting article in the Guardian, scared for life where current horror film directors pick their favourite horror films. The Japanese directors seem to love American films and Rob Green picks the ultra-pulpy Rosemary’s Baby… no wonder The Bunker was so bad.

My favourite director there, Neil Marshall, who filmed the brilliant The Descent and Dog Soldiers picks my favourite movie out of all the examples - Alien. Oddly no one picked Halloween, which is my favourite pure horror film and I always thought was a real director’s movie.

No wonder George wants this suppressed

Stumbled over these on YouTube… yes now we can see how bad the imfamous Star Wars Christmas Special was. Even worse that expected to be honest.

Opening - with Han and Chewy in an unbelievable cheep and wobbly looking Millennium Falcon set and Chewy’s family… an over long and boring 'comedy' sketch all in growl language. And that’s only the first few minutes. There was an hour of this nonsence!
